Food Group Fun for Thanksgiving

This year I decided what better month to teach about the food groups than in November before Thanksgiving! I just wanted to share my favorite activity that we did to culminate the theme. I asked the cafeteria staff if I could have some lunch trays and they said yes! So the kids picked one food from each food group to build their own lunch on a real lunch tray. They loved it! And some of their lunches looked delicious enough to eat!

We also made an actual food pyramid where the kids got to add food to the poster. I just realized I took this picture before we added the sweets!

It's been fun learning about food! :)

Bonus Food Fun for the letter Ff: here's another activity that my kids loved doing this week. I had some kids enjoy it so much that they did it 6 times! They used magnifying glassss to investigate and compare fingerprints to find out who stole the sweet!
