Ladybugs, Ladybugs, Ladybugs!

We had so much fun learning about caterpillars and butterflies that I decided to quickly purchase some ladybug larva just in time to watch them grow before school is out! I've never had ladybugs in my classroom so it is super fun trying something new. The kids looooove looking at them with magnifying glasses and observing all of the little details we have learned while watching them grow. Our ladybugs are currently in their pupa stage!

My most favorite activity was watching the kids perform "5 Little Ladybugs Sitting on a Leaf". It was so stinkin' adorable omg and the kids had so much fun acting it out.

We did a directed drawing of a ladybug and then wrote informational speech bubbles about ladybugs. I also loved these.

We read and watched "The Grouchy Ladybug" and then we brainstormed things that makes us grouchy. I thought that this would be a fun and silly activity, but it ended up being kind of sad to hear the things the kids said that makes them grouchy!

Addition Ladybugs using Bingo Daubers. The kids got to create their own addition sentence. My only direction was that they couldn't go dot crazy lol they had to be able to write the numbers of dots they used.

Our new little friends as pupas!

I love making shared writing posters! The kids love referencing them and taking turns writing them. Makes it so much more meaningful and memorable for them.
