I love Earth Day! It is super important to teach children and EVERYONE about how to take care of the planet ALWAYS. So this week....
We've been reading different books everyday that focus on a different way to take care of the Earth. Then we brainstorm bullet points to add to our "Earth Day Everyday" Poster. Posters are always more meaningful and (look adorable) when the kids take turns writing it themselves as the rest of the class helps sound the words out.
This week we have been learning about composting - what it means, how it works, and how to properly make and use it. We are currently doing an experimenting about composting using a banana, paper, and Styrofoam cup! The kids will end up seeing how the banana will "disappear" and the other two materials will not.
We made tear art Earth's and displayed them in our classroom window along with our completed poster. The kids are pretty much obsessed with all things recycling now! They get really excited talking about composting lol and finding the recycling symbol. :)
