Celebrity Writer officially launched! 🏆✏️

A couple of years ago I started the "Celebrity Writer" award in my classroom in hopes to motivate my kiddos to want to work hard to become amazing independent writers. I can't believe what kindergarteners nowadays need to be able to do by the end of the year! Anyway, so the other day I explained to the kids what the award is and how you win, they were instantly intrigued and excited! I loved seeing them suddenly really become motivated to want to be more independent writers. I choose the celebrity writer every couple of weeks. The celebrity writer winning paper should have a complete sentence, popcorn words, punctuation, proper spacing, colorful picture, and evidence of blending unknown words. It is always extremely hard to choose a winner so I always try to narrow it down and then ask my family to vote too! The winner gets their paper displayed, a trophy, and a sweet treat. My first winner this year wrote, "The Statue of Liberty has a tablet." I was blown away!!
