Kindergarten iPad Apps

I am blessed to have such wonderful technology in my classroom this year. I decided to start compiling a list of my favorite iPad apps that my kiddos use. 

1. Word Wizard - one of my favorite things to do with this app is to make words together using the moveable alphabet. As you touch and drag each letter, it makes the letter sound. When you drag letters together, it blends the sounds to help practice reading the word. My kiddos loved it!!

2. Handwriting Without Tears - I simply love the letter tracing function of this app! The kids love the sound effects and that you trace the letter 3 times. They get so excited when the app says "you did it!"

3. LetterSchool - seriously, this one is probably my favorite. The animation while tracing the letters and numbers is so engaging and fun. 

4. ABC Ninja & Sight Word Ninja - the app says a letter and the student has to swipe their finger over the matching letter. It's so fun to slice the letters in half!

5. Teach Me Kindergarten & Teach Me First Grade - my kids wanted an extra challenge usually go for these apps. They especially love practicing addition and subtraction. 

6. Montessori Crosswords - GREAT for blending CVC words 

7. Phonics Awareness, 1st Grade - nice guided practice for blending and segmenting 

8. 123 Tracing - just as fun as LetterSchool, but it's with numbers 

9. BrainPopJr Movie of the Week - new free video every week! The kids love to watch Moby!
