Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony/Graduation

I spend so much time and money each year into trying to make kindergarten graduation perfect for my hardworking kiddos. I wanted to share how we celebrated this year!

I'll start with one of my favorite bulletin boards to make, the graduation board. On each cap it says what the child wants to be when they grow up.

Next, I just have to show you the cake! I was worried buying a full sheet cake would be too much and I was lucky that it was just enough! At the end of the party there was only 4 pieces left! My party was INSANE crowded. I had never had that many people attend before and they barely all fit in my classroom! But I think it all worked out.

It's also become a tradition of mine to make some graduation cupcakes. I felt like they kind of look like army tanks this year lol, but they tasted good! Ingredients: brown sugar cupcakes, vanilla whipped frosting dyed blue, Reese's peanut butter cups minis, pull & peel licorice, and Nabisco chocolate crackers.

The first thing families saw when they walked through the door was this table of goodies. It had a clipboard for emails so that I could send everyone over 2,000 pictures I took this year! I also made programs for the ceremony, a graduation book from Shutterfly, and the kids Favorite memories book.

Next, was their memory books. I absolutely love there memory books. It's basically special projects we did every month this year. Many of the projects were made by painting their hands or using their pictures. So they are very personalized. I do these every year by hand! Binding 23 books started cramping up my hand so badly, but it's always worth it.

Then there was the data wall table. I took down all of their data wall fish so that their families could see and celebrate how much their child learned this year. The kids loved earning their scales!

I also had a photo op table where they could put on the graduation cap and take a picture in front of the banner.

Of course, I needed to try it out first!

I also set out their "oh the places you'll go" project. They wrote about if they could go anywhere where would they go.

As a gift to each one of the kids, they receive a graduation picture in a magnetic frame. I puff painted their name and the year on each one.

They also received individual awards for things I instantly think about when I think about each child. I spend months brainstorming and editing their awards so that I give them the most perfect one!

It was so fun celebrating each child. They are all truly unique and special kids.

Lastly, here are some pictures of the room before it got crazy crowded.

The t-shirts also have their favorite kindergarten memories written on them.

The ceremony lasted about an hour and consisted of:
-my welcome speech
-rise and shine performance
-individual awards
-picture slideshow
-cake

I think it was a success! :)
