My Classroom Reveal 2015-2016

New town, new school, new classroom, but still kindergarten! Lots of changes, but I think I can do this! I am really liking my classroom theme this year which is Jungle Safari. Let me show you around my new classroom:

Let's start with my Writing Wall. I love this writing wall, because it's an easy and fast way to display students writing and keep track of their progress throughout the year.

My Data Wall - they earn bananas that I will add to their trees! Our current learning goal is, "I can write my name." I'm going to add a picture of their faces to each monkey! Ha it's going to be so cute.

Next is the Word Wall - I've never had a free wall available to actually have a wall for it. I've always used portable word walls. Anyway, I like that it's close to the carpet and with long pointers they will be able to point to the words.

The Top Banana aka The Student of the Week - each week one special kiddo will get to take home a stuffed Curious George in a special backpack filled with an All About Me poster and George's journal (a composition book) to document their adventures together.

The Celebrity Writer board - every couple months I choose a "celebrity writer" that gets to have their hard work displayed on the special board. I give them a classroom trophy as well. They always love the special attention and get to be 3rd place in line.

Here is my main carpet time corner with some essentials - job helpers, weather graph, 100 chart, calendar, birthdays, daily specials, and learning objectives.

And my favorite thing in my classroom is my Reading Hut, 100% made by my awesome dad! I got giraffe fabric pillows too and banana pillows! But they aren't in the picture.

Nothing displayed yet, but here's my Room 6 News board that will have current and important news for parents to see.

My flower clock! I know kindergarteners don't need to learn how to tell time yet, but it's still super cute!

Here's my classroom management - they all have their name on a magnet and Start at green everyday. They can move up and down the leaves depending on their behavior that day.

My teacher wall corner - I have to display my class pictures of my previous kids (I wouldn't be the teacher I am today without them), I made the crayon P (DIY from Pinterest, and my aunt made my Maisy quilt.

I've always wanted a book shelf and my classroom came equipped with one! These are all some of my favorite books to read the first week.

Here's my jungle jeep! I'll take all of the kids pictures in it and hang them up on the wall on their clippy to display their work.

Another wall to display work

My door has parrots on it with the kids names.

Lastly, here's some pics of the entire room.

And then there is Back to School! I made little trifold programs that turned out pretty cute in hopes parents will actually want to read through the important info :)
