We learned all about bats and to conclude our bats unit we made spooky bats and displayed them With our "can/have/are" poster.
To kick off our pumpkin unit this week, we made jack-o-lanterns using 2D shapes.
We also did tear art to make pumpkins. I took each child's picture outside holding a real pumpkin and plan on gluing those on to their project. Although I think they turned out cute, I think next year I'll give them black paper instead of yellow for the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Candycorn challenge - match uppercase, lowercase, and a picture that begins with that letter to build candy corn.
Candycorn pumpkins - each pumpkin has a little riddle on it about how many teeth it has. The kids use candycorn to put the correct amount of candycorn on each jack-o-lantern's mouth.
The kids took turns rehearsing there lines to act out "5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate". It was.....ADORABLE.
We also took turns feeling the pulp inside the pumpkin. Everyone came up with their own adjective to describe what it felt like. The top two descriptive words were probably "slimey" and "bubblegum".
