Polar Express Day!

The last day before winter vacation, winter break, Christmas break, Christmas vacation lol whatever you want to call it these days, I always celebrate with a pajama day in  my class. The kids can wear their jammies to school, bring blankets, pillows, "stuffies" aka stuffed animals. And we watched the Polar Express while enjoying popcorn, candy canes, and hot cocoa with marshmallows! I've also learned throughout the years that the cleanest, easiest way to make hot chocolate is to use a crockpot and water. I used to try and be fancy and use milk lol. Never again.

The last week of school we read a little bit of the book each day to discuss the beginning, middle, and end since we are learning about sequencing and retelling. After discussing each part, we all brainstorm and come up with one sentence that summaries each section to write on our retell train. The kids looooooooved this activity. Such a fun way to celebrate and focus on something during the crazy last week before Christmas! I also of course had to add a little flare dressing up a little like Santa :)

Another highlight of my day...personalized gifts from my sweeties :)
