Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Math

To culminate our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom week we did a fun whole group math activity. I gave each child a coconut tree template and brown circles (that took me forever to cut out!). Then I'd show a card with a number 0-10 and they were supposed to quickly add their coconuts to their tree and then count them altogether by pointing to each one with their "magic finger". When we'd move on to another number I'd say, "Shake your Chicka tree! Get those coconuts out!" They loved that! It ended up being a pretty cute and effective activity.
