A Peak Into Our Kindergarten Week

Just some fun activities happening in kindergarten this week....

Practicing fine motor skills by using tweezers to pick up marbles and place them on top of the golf tees. The challenge was to get all 24 on without any falling!

Alphabet hunt - after they found a letter, they had to put it into the puzzle.

Building our names and our friends names using magnetic letters

I was hesitant to giving them tacks for this activity, but they did awesome following directions. They used tacks to poke holes to reveal the word of the week. Afterwards, they held it up to the light and traced the bumps with their fingers.

Using finger lights to practice sky writing sight words

We acted out the Little Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books. They loved getting a turn to participate with a prop.

Then they made their own story retell bags so that they could act out the story as we listened to the story on YouTube.

We also read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School. They got to make the mouse and complete the sentence with something that their mouse would want.

We also did some Q-Tip painting to practice fine motor skills.

We've also managed to use Chromebooks daily for 30 minutes. They are getting pretty good at kindergarten technology skills! Each day I teach them a new game that focuses on a specific skill and then they practice playing in partners.
